Matt Kodis joined the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s Marketing and Communications team as a Research Analyst in 2017. He has utilized federal, state and local data to help IEDA in a designing and evaluating a variety of economic and business development programs. Matt has engaged with various partners inside and outside state government to promote the growth of Iowa’s key industries in order to enhance the quality of life for Iowans. Matt also currently sits on the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Iowa Economic Roundtable. In 2021, Matt expanded his role at IEDA to take on tourism research duties and sits on the Travel and Tourism Research Association’s CenStates chapter board.
Prior to joining IEDA, Matt spent three years on the supply chain team at Whirlpool Corporation and two years as a researcher at Kinexus Group in Southwest Michigan. Matt holds a Bachelor’s degree in statistics from the University of Michigan and a Master’s in Public Administration from Drake University. In his spare time, Matt enjoys baking (where he’s won three Iowa State Fair ribbons), cooking and traveling.
