Research Associate
Job Summary/Basic Function
Under the direction of the Business and Economic Research Center (BERC) director, the Research Associate performs a wide range of duties in support of the regional economic, business, and community professional services that BERC provides. These duties may include economic and fiscal impact analyses; feasibility studies; statistical analyses; economic and business trend analyses; regional performance analyses and benchmarking; survey design; literature review on economic and business issues and studies; database creation and maintenance; presentation of data using current visualization tools; and grant proposal development, writing, and submission.
Required Education
A bachelor’s degree in economics, business, public policy, computer science, a STEM field, or other relevant field with training in statistics and econometric.
Required Related Experience
Minimum one-year experience and good command of a least one of the following statistical software packages: SAS, STATA, SPSS or R. Minimum two years’ experience in deadline/outcome-oriented work. Advanced skills with Microsoft products including Access.
Desirable Related Experience
Graduate degree in related field preferred. Experience GIS and SQL and/or record of successful grant writing experience would be an asset.
