Research and Data Analyst

The Iowa League of Cities, a membership association of Iowa’s 850+ cities, is seeking a Research and Data Analyst. The Research and Data Analyst will not only oversee traditional local government research but will also expand the department’s capabilities in data analytics and the use of artificial intelligence. This role is pivotal in leading data-driven decision-making and supporting policy development for cities across Iowa.

This position reports to the Executive Director and works in collaboration with the Membership Services and Government Affairs team, along with outside academic institutions and other partners, and works closely with city officials and leadership on policy and analysis.

Minimum requirements for the role include a bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, political science, statistics, economics or related field and 2+ years of progressively responsible experience in research and analysis, data analytics and AI applications, preferably in local government, public interest group, or related organization.
