Regional Research Analyst
The W.E. Upjohn Institute for Employment Research is seeking a talented Research Analyst to work with the Regional and Economic Planning Services team. The Analyst works with data and economic models to communicate information on conditions in economies ranging from local to national levels. Such communication includes written content, as well as data visualizations and presentations. Responsibilities include obtaining and analyzing regional economic data from a variety of sources, utilizing and developing models to forecast economic activity, and providing written analysis of data and presenting findings.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field required, Master’s degree preferred. Fields include (but aren’t limited to) economics, business, planning, statistics, urban/rural studies, sociology, and political science. Knowledge of data sources, including those for economic, labor, and population data. Experience in performing regional economic analysis required. Demonstrated ability to use statistical software (Stata preferred) for data manipulation and analysis required. Demonstrated ability to create data-based content, including written content and visualizations. Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to work independently and as part of a team required.
