The Economic Consultant – SES is a member of the Labor Market Statistics within the Division of Workforce Services.
Under the general supervision of the Economic Administrator of the Labor Force and Industry Section, this position manages the Current Employment Statistics (CES) and the Local Area Unemployment Statistics (LAUS) programs. This position will supervise staff that analyze and disseminate nonagricultural employment and hours and earnings estimates for Florida and metro areas and produce local area unemployment statistics for the state, counties, metro areas, and cities with populations over 25,000. The CES data are used by economists, program planners, and analysts to evaluate the performance of the Nation, Florida, and its metropolitan areas. The LAUS data are used for allocating millions of dollars in federal and state funds to Florida and to sub-state areas.
