The WIAC is a Federal Advisory Committee that recommends ways to improve the nationwide workforce and labor market information systems to the Secretary of Labor. The new committee, appointed in mid-2020, reconvened in September and December 2020 to begin work on new recommendations to a new administration about how to change Federal statistical agencies and the workforce data they produce. Several C2ER and LMI Institute members serve on the WIAC, and the C2ER Data Advocacy Committee organized this webinar to communicate the value and importance of the WIAC and how to get involved.

Moderator Jennifer Zeller will be joined by Steve Rietzke, Bruce Madson, and Andrew Reamer to share the perspectives of economic development organizations, Federal agencies, state workforce agencies, and research organizations, respectively. Several members of the panel have experience with the committee dating to first WIAC appointed by Secretary of Labor Tom Perez.
