This presentation will cover a case study of how a local economic development organization in Louisiana pivoted during the pandemic to provide quick and innovative solutions to help mitigate short-term effects for the local business community.

Presenter:
Brittany LaCour Deal is an IEDC Certified Economic Developer and the Director of Business Intelligence at the Lafayette Economic Development Authority in Lafayette, LA. She is responsible for research planning and oversight, GIS mapping, economic impact studies, real estate site evaluations, special projects and more. Brittany has acted as project lead for many critical research and special projects, such as, the University Avenue Corridor Initiative, America’s Competitiveness Exchange-Louisiana, and LEDA’s COVID Community 311 Response and Grant Program.
Brittany also acts as the LEDA liaison for the City of Carencro, one of five municipalities in Lafayette Parish, LA. Outside of work, Brittany serves her community as a board member for the Greater Southwest Louisiana Black Chamber of Commerce and The705 Young Professionals Organization. In addition, she also serves on two national C2ER committees, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and 2023 Annual Conference.
