Jeff DeBellis is the Director of Economic & Policy Analysis in the NC Department of Commerce’s Labor & Economic Analysis Division. In this position, Jeff leads a team of analysts and economists in developing research, insights, and data delivery tools on North Carolina’s economy and labor market. He regularly advices local and state leaders on conditions and trends impacting workforce and economic development. He also oversees development of the state’s strategic economic development plan; research on jobs, industries, and employers’ changing workforce needs; economic impact analyses; projections of industry and occupational employment; the management and growth of the state’s career information system, NCcareers.org; and various publications, dashboards, and resources to help the people of North Carolina make informed economic decisions. Prior to joining the Department of Commerce in 2012, Jeff spent nearly fifteen years in research positions with NC’s Small Business & Technology Development Center and RTI International.
