Ben Johnson is a partner with W-REI Investments.  In his previous job, he was the SC Department of Commerce Research Director and managed a team of researchers and analysts that supports the mission of SC Commerce as the leading economic development agency of the state.

An experienced research professional, he brings a wealth of management and research skills to the agency, which will be instrumental in supporting the state’s ongoing industry recruitment efforts. He has a background in research and data in commercial real estate.

Ben serves as a board member of the SC Logistics Council, the USC/Columbia Technology Incubator, and was the author of the most recent South Carolina Innovation Plan.
