Alyssa Brown




Alyssa works for the City of Charlotte’s Economic Development department on the Business Recruitment team as a program manager with a focus on research and labor market analytics. She helps sell the City of Charlotte to prospective companies by providing them with critical information about cost of labor, the local talent pool, educational attainment, real estate options, demographics, cost of living, and more.

Alyssa is from Winston-Salem, NC, but has lived in Charlotte for six years. She has built a strong knowledge of economic and workforce development from various research roles at the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce and Charlotte Works, the workforce development board for Mecklenburg County. In her previous roles, she was responsible for developing economic development marketing materials, conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses of labor markets, developing career pathways in a number of industries, and assisting with strategic investments into workforce and economic development.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a second major in Psychology from Virginia Tech and her Masters in Public Administration from UNC Charlotte. When she’s not working, Alyssa enjoys snuggles with her cat, learning new recipes to cook and bake, traveling, and working out at her local gym.
