<!–

This intermediate-level training is designed for C2ER and LMI Institute members who already know their way around R and are ready to sharpen their skills for workforce and economic development research. Through hands-on coding and real-world datasets, you’ll learn how to streamline your workflow, automate data pulls, and build compelling visualizations and maps.

<!–
<!–

What will YOU be able to do after this training?

  •  Apply a full data science workflow in R, from cleaning and wrangling to visualization and mapping
  • Use tidyverse tools (like dplyr, ggplot2, tidyr, and tidycensus) to analyze Census, BLS, and BEA data
  • Automate public data retrieval using APIs, saving time and reducing manual errors
  • Create polished plots and spatial maps to support policy briefs, grant proposals, and stakeholder presentations
  • Build reusable scripts and workflows that make your team’s analysis faster and more consistent

<!–

Do you need to provide reasons to attend? Here are some suggestions:

  • “This training will help me reduce time spent on manual data cleaning and improve the quality of our visualizations.”
  • “I’ll learn how to automate data pulls from key sources like Census and BLS, which will streamline our reporting.”
  • “The curriculum is tailored to our field, so I’ll leave with tools directly applicable to our regional analysis work.”
  • “It’s a cost-effective way to build internal data science capacity and reduce reliance on external consultants.”

Who Should Attend:

Researchers and analysts with foundational R experience who are ready to build more efficient, reproducible workflows for regional and labor market data.
