C2ER Board Opening

At the upcoming Annual Conference in June 7-11, 2021, C2ER will elect a new slate of board members.

C2ER Nominating Committee is seeking experienced and dedicated members to serve as leaders in guiding the future of C2ER. The role of board members is to provide organizational governance, take an active role in board activities and help chair at least one committee.

If you are interested in being considered for a Board opening, or would like to recommend a potential Board member, please contact Erol Yildirim no later than April 23, 2021.

Friends of BLS FY22 Recommendation Letter

Please do your part to improve the statistics that you rely on to understand the economy. The Friends of BLS FY22 Recommendation Letter, addressed to Hill appropriators, is accepting sign-ons from organizations and individuals. Letters like these make a difference; they are a key way that our representatives learn what people care about.

A few highlighted parts:

“We, the undersigned … are writing to … encourage you to sustain investment in [BLS] … by providing the Bureau with no less than $800 million in FY2022. …The requested allocation for FY 2022 … is necessary to fund critical initiatives at BLS and to strengthen ongoing data collection and modernization. Without these funds, BLS will be forced to curtail spending on its programs, which will delay modernizations and could endanger data quality or continuity.”

Cost of Living Index Spotlighted

The Community Indicators Consortium on the first Friday of each month features the latest projects, data tools and developments in the practice and effective use of community indicators to improve quality of life. In April C2ER’s Cost of Living Index was featured.
