State/Province Chapter:

Members who work for State or Provincial economic development research agencies have come together in response to their specialized needs. The group established a State/Province Research Chapter within the C2ER membership network to create opportunities to work more closely together on collaborative projects and to share information.

The network has designed the Chapter as part of a new institutional membership category within C2ER's current membership structure that allows multiple staff members from organizations serving larger areas (e.g., states, provinces, and metro regions) to obtain more in-depth assistance from C2ER and to participate in a more active way. Ultimately, the goal of this effort is to develop a professional affinity network for participating researchers and analysts.

In response to the needs identified by the state members, C2ER is currently working on the following tasks specifically to serve chapter members:

  • Organizes quarterly teleconferences of the Chapter to enhance better networking and communications.
  • State Incentives Programs, Expenditure Survey and other unique state economic development databases or publications.
  • Conduct collaborative research projects involving Chapter participants.
  • Share examples of best practices or policy trends.
  • Host an annual roundtable of Chapter members.
